Have you wished the tour lasted more than one day? Would you like to be able to see more gardens? Well, it does, and now you can! Read on to find out about the array of opportunities available on this year’s Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour.
Main Event: Free Self-Guided Tour
As usual, the free Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour will take place on the first Sunday in May. This year the date is Sunday, May 4, 2008; sixty beautiful native plant gardens will be open. (Please DO NOT visit these gardens on Saturday, May 3, as the hosts will be busy preparing for the event on the following day. The free tour takes place ONLY on Sunday, May 4, 2008.) Learn more
Select Tours
These exclusive guided tours to inspirational native plant gardens allow the serious gardener to see and learn more, and to gain an insider’s view of a variety of unusual and delightful gardens in a small group setting. Select Tours will be offered on April 12, 13, 26, 27, and May 3, 18, and 25, 2008. Learn more
Native Plant Sale Extravaganza
On the Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour week-end, several nurseries specializing in California natives will be open on Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4 from 10:00 to 5:00. These nurseries carry large quantities of hard-to-find California natives. Knowledgeable staff will be on hand to help you select plants right for your garden throughout the week-end. Learn more
Carpools and Gardener Match
The last opportunity was designed to help registrants find neighbors with whom to share gardening skills, native plants, or tools; plan work parties; or to carpool to Bringing Back the Natives Garden Tour events. Learn more
Have Lunch on the Tour
Fresh-off-the grill barbecued lunches may be purchased at the Nursery Marketplace in Alameda.
